The drilling mud solids control system is for filter away danger solids phase that contain in the drilling mud and reuse the needed solid phase.  The task is to keep drilling fluids in stable performance status.  There are several machinery that will need to perform the tasks.

The result of consist performance of drilling mud is avoid the blocking and damage of the oil and gas channel. It reduce the well drilling torque and friction drag and reduce the pressure oscillation of the annular air suction.  It also increase the velocity of the well drilling, extend life of the drill bit, reduce wear of the equipment.

There are  five steps of filtering process that require five solids control machinery that will do

  filter screening, degassing the mud, desanding the mud, desilting the mud, centrifuge force separation and demand of weighting up mud. The consist work flow between every solids control equipment use in the whole system is very important.   Level one to five level of output of the mud should be matched each other and the interval of separation size should be appropriate and have a certain overlap.  The result of the smaller solids which are not filter by the upper can be filter in the next controlled level.

With the development of well drilling technology, drilling fluid solids control system plays an important role in drilling operation. This Nigeria client is one of the big drilling contractor in Nigeria, the order is the third order for this client, before this order, client has ever bought shaker screens and 4 decanter centrifuges and one liquid mud plant from GN Solids Control. Right now, GN Solids Control is building another 2 vertical cuttings dryer and a number of screw pump and screw conveyors for the client.
It is modular waste mangement equipment, with certain modification on site, which comes to you in this way, the client lift the centrifuge in a much higher place. The client have 6 rigs, now they are equiping half of their rigs with drilling waste management system.
The list of the waste management equipment include:
3 sets vertical cuttings dryer
6 sets high speed VFD decanter centrifuges
9 screw pumps, with 6 for feeding decanter centrifuges, ther other 3 for flushing the cuttings dryer.
15 screw conveyors for transfer drilling waste to feed the equipment and discharge the solids.
To make sure everything goes perfectlly well on site, we supplly the client layout drawings, and 3D drawings to show all the needed details as instructions. This sweat action do not only save the commissioning hassels, also make everything, communications easier.

Cooperating with the famous German rig supplier T&T, GN has been one of the biggest mud recycling system supplier in Australian market for a long time. GN also have joined a lot of the impoartant times in this field, have been the exhibition for a few years. And in ASTT 2015, again, as the only Chinese mud system supplier in the exhibition, GN brought the most popular self contained mud system GNMS200G.

Another Drilling Waste Management System to Russia

Modular units for drilling waste management is becoming more and more popular, because of the small dimension and small weight, flexible for transportation and jobsite layout. Different kinds of soft pipes, screw conveyors and pumps are the blood vessel of the whole drilling waste management system, to connect the key equipment. GN Solids Control will take the key equipment to oil show.

For the all in one system, it is more convenient to move the whole system. And after settled, the postion of the equipment is certain, for long time operations, this is easier for all the on site operaters.

Remark: GN vertical cuttings dryer can also be used for WBM drilling cuttings treatment. Compared with High G dryer, the treatment results is much better, however, the power consumption is much bigger. The vertical cuttings dryer is 55kw for big size cuttings dryer (GNCD930 dryer) and 37kw for mini vertical cuttings dryer (GNCD730 dryer); only 3.88kw for High G dryer (GNZS594HGE-LD). Operation cost of vertical cuttings dryer and high G dryer is almost same. The most costly operation parts for vertical cuttings dryer is screen basket; the most costly operation spare parts for high G dryer is shaker screen. They both need to be replaced after some period use.

We all knew that people are more strict on environment protection, for drilling waste, we know we need make it environment friendly, then dump. The final step of drilling waste cuttings waste is solidification, thermal desortion, injection back, or eat by germs. Solidification of wastes involves the production of a solid mass having sufficiently high structural integrity to allow transport and /or disposal of the solid without requiring secondary containment. This technology converts hydrologic sensitive liquid and semi-liquids waste in a physical form that can be stored safely.
Then it is part of the real nature, from the end to the beginning.

It is not born for the oil drilling waste market, as we did not even keep in mind we need to do this before.
Mainly it consist of collection box for drill cuttings waste, cement, absorber, other chemicals. Screw conveyors to collect them all to the mixer, a big one collect waste, two small one collect from small box, but to the same end; another screw, a screw mixer.
The high-shear mixer mixes all the material, and push to the front at the same time. When the solids go to the discharge port, it is already mixed sufficiently, then discharge.
